The largest Mahjong tournament is the First Super Cup Mahjong Tournament held by Gi Tiene International Co. Ltd. (Taiwan) between 8 December 2007 and 3 February 2008. The competition featured 14,886 individual players from all over Taiwan.
The longest marathon playing Mahjong is 33 hr 3 min 48.58 sec and was achieved by Oleg Petrov, Anton Khantimirov, Mark Efremov and Nickolay Demyanov (all Russia) in the exhibition center “Sibir” in Krasnoyarsk, Russia, on 14-16 December 2012.
The most people playing Mahjong simultaneously is 1,124 participants, achieved by Big Lobsters International Group (Chinese Taipei) at the 2012 Uranus World Mahjong Competition held in Taipei City, Chinese Taipei, on 15 September 2012.
