The largest piece of toffee weighed 1.33 tonnes (2,940 lb) and was created by Susie’s South Forty Confections, Inc of Midland, Texas, USA on 17 September 2002. The giant piece of pecan toffee was made in the shape of Texas and contained a total of 7,056,000 calories. On 13 August 1849 a piece of ice 6 m (20 ft) long was reported to have fallen from the sky in Scotland, UK. The ice was clear but looked like it was composed of smaller pieces, possibly hailstones. One possible explanation is that hailstones were fused together by a bolt of lightning. The mass of ice reportedly fell after a peal of thunder.
The largest pumpkin pie weighs 1,678 kg (3,699 lb) and was made by New Bremen Giant Pumpkin Growers (USA) at New Bremen Pumpkinfest in New Bremen, Ohio, USA, on 25 September 2010. The diameter of the pie was 6 m (20 ft). The crust was made of 440 sheets of dough and the other ingredients were canned pumpkin, evaporated milk, eggs, sugar, salt, cinnamon and pumpkin spice.
