The largest screen display was organised by Red Communications and Mediaset using 4,138 7-inch monitors displaying all different episodes of the satirical news programme “Striscia la notizia” at the Triennale Exhibition of contemporary art in Milan, Italy on 11-25 November 2007. Total area of screen display is 455.18 ft2 (42.29 m2) — take 7-inch monitor length then use this site (http://www.mathopenref.com/pythagorastheorem.html) to arrive at total area of each individual monitor, then multiplied by 4,138.
The largest scratch card is 11.92 m (39 ft 1 in) wide and 7.57 m (24 ft 10 in) tall and was created by STC (Saudi Telecom Company) and unveiled at the Sawa Carnival at Red Sea Mall, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on 28 November 2012. The scratch card, a scale replica of a mobile phone ‘recharge card’, was unveiled and scratched to mark the 10th Anniversary of STC (Saudi Telecom Company).
The world’s largest metal sculpture, completed by Gary Greff (USA) in August 2001, stands 110 ft (33.5m) tall, is 154 ft (46.9m) wide and weighs 157,659 lb (71,512.91 kg). Entitled Geese in Flight , the sculpture resembles Canadian geese flying against a backdrop of sky and prairie and is one of a series of metal sculptures located along the Enchanted Highway between Gladstone and Regent, North Dakota, USA. The largest Scottish reel involved 1,254 pupils from Ellon Academy, Ellon, Aberdeenshire, UK on 21 September 2004. They danced the Dashing White Sergeant for 15 minutes.
Unique Events Limited on behalf of the city of Edinburgh organised 1,914 people who danced the largest strip the willow as part of Edinburgh’s Hogmanay celebrations at the ‘Night Afore Fiesta’ on 30 December 2000.
The Gelatin Collective (Austria) created a 61-m (200-ft) long pink knitted rabbit – ‘Hase’ – on the side of a mountain in Piedmont, northern Italy. Using 1,000 kg (2,200 lb) of wool, it took more than a year to knit the basic shape and a further seven weeks to stuff and place it. The collective hopes that the sculpture will exist for 20 years. It is free for the public to explore.
The largest sculpture made of plastic bags consisted of 36,700 plastic bags in the shape of a globe. The sculpture was constructed by volunteers in an attempt organized by the County of Los Angeles Department of Public Works (USA) in Los Angeles, USA, on 31 December 2009. The sculpture consisted of more than 36,700 bags in total, however only this number could be verified by the witness statements.
The largest soap sculpture measures 2.19 x 2.07 x 2.68 m (7.19 x 6.79 x 8.80 ft) and was created by Protex Soap (South Africa) in Johannesburg, South Africa, on 5 October 2010. The sculpture represents a globe held by two hands.
The largest sculpture made from recycled materials measured 26.8 m (87 ft 11 in) in length, 18.4 m (60 ft 4 in) in width and 8.66 m (28 ft 6 in) in height, and was achieved at an event organised by the Kuwait Association of Engineers and Fiesta Kuwait, in Kuwait, on 20 November 2011. The sculpture represented a hard hat (the type of helmet used in workplace environments) and engineering tools.
The largest seed mosaic measured 220 m² (2,368.06 ft²) and was created by employees of Monsanto, at Club Med, Angra dos Reis, Brazil, on 30 November 2011. Just over 200 employees took part in creating the mosaic that represented Dekalb one of their brands of corn, it took under 2 hours.
