The longest chain of staples measures 173.99 m (570 ft 10 in) and was built by the staff of Staples Bathurst (Canada). It was presented and measured in Bathurst, Canada, on 23 July 2011.

The attempt was part of the 20th anniversary of Staples Canada where a contest was held between the single stores to see who can come up with the most original celebration. Staples in Bathurst decided to break a Guinness World Record.
