Deepest half marathon

The deepest half marathon race took place at a depth of 212 m (695 ft) in Bochnia salt mine, Poland on 4 March 2004. The running track was 2,438 m long which the 11 participants circuited approximately 8.5 times to run a total distance of 21,097 m. Bochnia is Europe’s oldest salt mine; operating since 1248.

Fastest completions of Minesweeper

The fastest combined completion time of Minesweeper on all three difficulties is 38.893 sec, achieved by Kamil Muranski (Poland), with scores current as of 11 October 2012. Competitive Minesweeper is played using a customised version of the game that eliminates gameplay exploits in the original code, making different attempts comparable with each other.

Heaviest blueberry

The heaviest blueberry weighed 11.28 g (0.4 oz) and was grown by Polana SP. Zo.o in Ochoza, Parczew in Poland, and was grown on behalf of Winterwood Farms Ltd. in Maidstone, Kent, UK. The fruit was weighed in August 2008. The variety is called ‘Chandler’.

Largest bottle cap pyramid

The largest bottle cap pyramid was made of 308,945 caps and built by 12 schoolchildren at the Krasnystaw Cultural Centre in Krasnystaw, Poland, finishing on September 9, 2000. The pyramid consisted of 97 concentric layers of bottle caps; in the first layer there are 97 x 97 caps, totalling 9409 caps. Succeeding layers have one less cap per side. The 12 teenagers worked in shifts for eight days, 21 hours and 48 minutes. Bottle caps from sponsor Zywiec Beer were used.

Largest dog walk (single breed)

The largest single-breed dog walk involved 700 Labradors in a charity event organised by the Kimberly-Clark company (Poland). The walk was held in central Warsaw, Poland, on 29 August 2010. The dogs and their owners walked a 5 km (3.11 miles) circuit, which started and finished outside the Palace for Culture and Science in Warsaw, Ploand.

Largest guitar ensemble

The largest guitar ensemble was achieved by 6,346 participants in an event organised by Thanks Jimi Festival, in Wroclaw, Rynek, Poland, on 01 May 2009. The event saw Steve Morse of the band Deep Purple taking part in the record attempt
