First fully documented war and first use of written propaganda

The Battle of Kadesh was fought in Syria in approximately 1275 BC and pitted the Egyptians, under the great pharaoh Ramses II, against the Hittites. The sources that depict the battle are Egyptian: an epic inscription called the “Poem”, written by an anonymous scribe, and numerous reliefs in the temple known as the “Ramessium”. Largest battle by number of chariots

The largest chariot battle was the Battle of Kadesh (Qadesh) on the Orontes River in modern-day Syria in 1299BC, with a total of approximately 5,000 chariots. Egyptian Pharaoh Ramses II sought to recapture Kadesh with 2,000 chariots and 16,000 infantry from the Hittite army under Muwatallis, who commanded an infantry of 20,000 with 3,000 chariots. The largest copper bas-relief measures 122.5 m² (1,318.5 m²) and was created by Ali Moneer Alassad (Syria), in Qurdaha, Lattakia, Syria, on 2 July 2009. The bas-relief is 50.10 m long and 2.44 m tall. Mr Ali Alassad and his team spent 4,000 working hours to finish the copper bas-relief. The world’s largest pistachio marzipan sweet weighed 4.1984 tonnes (9,255 lb 14 oz) and was made by 225 chefs in an event organised by Spacetel Syria at Hamadanya Stadium, Aleppo, Syria on 1 July 2003. Largest phyllo dessert mosaic

The largest phyllo dessert mosaic measures 135.12 m² (1454.4 ft2) and was achieved by Alsultan sweets (Syria) in Damascus, Syria, on 14 July 2010. The phyllo dessert mosaic measured 112.6m (369 ft 5 in) in length and 1.2 m (4 ft) in width. 70 of Alsultan sweets employees joined together to create the mosaic The mosaic contained 606742 pieces of mixed phyllo deserts. Each piece measured 2.5cm in width and 2.5 in length. The total weight of the mosaic was 4 ton (8818.5 lbs)

The largest restaurant is the Bawabet Dimashq Restaurant (Damascus Gate Restaurant) which has 6,014 seats.
