The oldest person to bungee jump is Mohr Keet (b. 31 August 1913, South Africa) who completed latest jump when he was 96 years old at Blaukrans Bungee CC, South Africa, on 10 April 2010. He was unaware that he had broken a world record until after his jump.

Sixty-eight-year-old Carole King (b. 9 February 1942) and 62-year-old James Taylor (b. 12 March 1948, both USA) had a US Top 5 album in May 2010 with Live At The Troubadour.

Oldest chinchilla ever

The world’s oldest chinchilla ever was Bouncer, who was born on 1 July 1977 and owned by Jenny Ann Bowen (UK) of Great Barr, Birmingham, UK. Bouncer died on 3 October 2005, at an incredible age of 28 years, 94 days. The chinchilla was sold by Arthur T. Sweeney of Chinchilla Ranch, Nottingham on 29 May 1978, and can confirm the birth date. Mr Sweeney is a chinchilla specialist and mentioned that the average lifespan is 10-14 years.

Goonhilly Satellite Earth Station on the Lizard Peninsula, Cornwall, UK, has 59 antennae of various sizes in operation today. ‘Arthur’ (Goonhilly One) began operation on 11 July 1962 and today continues to carry telephony and data traffic around the world. It received the first live transatlantic television signals from the Telstar satellite.

The oldest comic book writer is Captain America creator Joe Simon (USA, b. 11 October 1913) who continues to work as comic book writer, artist, editor, and publisher as of January 2010. Joe Simon also writes under the pseudonyms Gregory Sykes, and Jon Henery.

The oldest pet cockatiel, ‘Pretty Boy’ was born on 17 September 1975 in Brunswick, Ohio, USA and belongs to Catherine Masarin of Hinckley, Ohio, USA. On the day the claim was recommended for approval (03/11/2003) “Pretty Boy” was 28 years 47 days old. Sadly, ‘Pretty Boy’ is no longer with us and passed away in 2004.

The worlds oldest surviving working clock is the faceless clock dating from 1386, or possibly earlier, at Salisbury Cathedral, Wiltshire, UK. It was restored in 1956, having struck the hours for 498 years and ticked more than 500 million times.
