The most expensive cocktail was sold for £8,583 ($12,970) and was made by Joel Heffernan (Australia), at Club 23, Melbourne, Australia, on 7 February 2013. The cocktail made by Joel Heffernan, called ‘the Winston’, contained 60ml of Croizet’s 1858 ‘Cuvee Leonie’ cognac. This cognac is also the Guinness World Records title holder of the most expensive cognac sold at auction.
The most valuable mangoes in the world cost AUS$2,562.50 (£889; $1,285) each and were purchased by Sam Coco (Australia) when he bought a tray of 16 Top End mangoes at the Brisbane Produce Markets Charity Auction, Australia for AUS$41,000 (£14,230; $20,565) on 12 October 2001. The tray of mangoes, the very first of the season, was handed over by Sam to children in the Mater Children’s Hospital in South Brisbane. Each tray normally sells for AUS$15-25 (£5-9).
The Continuum Caliburn turntable, manufactured by Continuum Audio Laboratories PTY in Melbourne, Australia, is the most expensive in the world with prices reaching up to $112,000 (£57,800) depending on the finish – the tone arm costs an additional $12,000 (£6,200).
