Stair climbing by bicycle – most steps

The most steps climbed by bicycle is 2,755 and was achieved by Krystian Herba (Poland) who climbed the Eureka Tower in Melbourne, Australia, on 4 February 2014. Krystian climbed to the 77th floor, took the lift back down (while still on his bike) then climbed all the way back up to the observation deck on the 88th floor.

Treadmill hopping – duration

The longest time to hop on one leg on a treadmill at a constant speed of 6.5 km/h (4.04 mph) is 4 minutes 2.6 seconds and was achieved by Will Elrick (Australia) on the set of Australia Smashes Guinness World Records at the Warringah Mall in Sydney, Australia, on 14 January 2010. The record was part of the TV series “Australia Smashes Guinness World Records”

Trans-Australia on a mini scooter

Harald Hel (Austria) crossed the Australian continent on a push scooter in 18 days 11 hr 25 min, starting in Port Augusta, South Australia, on 9 September and finishing in Darwin, Northern Territory, on 27 September 2001. He covered an estimated 2,800 km (1,750 miles). His scooter, which was designed for adults, had 66 cm (26 in) diameter tyres (although this isn’t relevant to the record).

Widest tongue

The widest tongue measures 7.9 cm (3.1 in) on its widest point and belongs to Jay Sloot (Australia). The tongue was measured and the record confirmed again on the set of Lo Show dei Record in Rome, Italy on 18 March 2010.

Youngest bi-lateral hip resurfacing patient

David Fogarty (Australia) (b. 7 December 1988) underwent bi-lateral hip resurfacing on 26 November 2002 at the Sydney Adventist Hospital, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, aged 13 years 354 days. The operation, carried out by Dr James Sullivan, used the Birmingham Hip Resurfacing technique (metal on metal)

Youngest band to be banned from radio

The youngest band to have one of their recordings banned from radio play is Who’s Ya Daddy? of Ballina, New South Wales, Australia, with an average age of 12 years 26 days. Their recording “I Like Fat Chicks” was banned from ZZZ FM in Lismore, New South Wales, Australia on 23 December 2004. Band members are Robert Raguse (b. 3 January 1992, Australia), Alexander L’Estrange (b. 9 November 1993, Australia) and Edward L’Estrange (b. 21 September 1993, Australia).

Youngest TV presenter

The youngest TV presenter of his own show is Luis Tanner (Australia, b. 9 May 1998) who currently hosts Cooking for Kids with Luis (Nickelodeon). The first episode in this weekly show was aired on 25 October 2004 when he was 6 years 168 days old. To date, nineteen episodes have been aired. The show was initially recorded on 7 July 2003 when he was 5 years, 68 days old.

Largest doner kebab sandwich

The world’s largest doner kebab sandwich weighed 413 kg (910.5 lb) and was made by the Maroosh Lebanese Café at the Applause Festival, Albury, New South Wales, Australia on 23 October 2004. The kebab measured 8 m (26.24 ft) long and 70 cm (27.5 in) wide and contained 84.5 kg (186.29 lb) lettuce, 25.9 kg (57.09 lb) tabouli salad, 65.4 kg (144.12 lb) tomatoes, 18.4 kg (40.56 lb) onions, 23.10 kg (50.9 lb) garlic butter, 133.5 kg (294.31 lb) chicken and 62.10 kg 136.9 lb) Continue reading →
