The first game to allow players to control one of Spidey’s deadly foes was Spider-Man & Venom: Maximum Carnage, published for the SNES and Mega Drive/Genesis in 1994. In the game, Spider-Man teams up with Venom to stop Carnage, and the game allowed players to choose which character they played as, enabling them to control Venom for the first time. During the 2010 season Roy Halladay (USA) became the first pitcher to throw a no-hitter in the regular season and a no-hitter in the same postseason. Pitching for the Philadelphia Phillies (USA), Halladay threw a perfect game against the Florida Marlins (USA) in Miami, Florida, on 29 May 2010, and a no-hitter against the Cincinnati Reds (USA) in Game 1 of the National League Division Series at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (USA) on 6 October 2010. The earliest player housing in a MMORPG was in Ultima Online which allowed players to own their own houses, which could be decorated and even turned into shops with goods for other players to buy. An early problem with this system was players using rows of housing to wall off sections of the world for private use. This was eventually fixed and the housing system upgraded. From February 2003, players were able to custom design their houses as part of the Age of Shadows expansion.
On 4 February 2007, aged 20 years 147 days, Dubliner Eoin Morgan (b. 10 September 1986) scored 115 for Ireland against Canada in the ICC World Cricket League at Jaffery Sports Club Ground, Nairobi, Kenya. On 2 March 2010, Morgan recorded an unbeaten 110 for England against Bangladesh in Mirpur, Bangladesh.
India’s Sachin Tendulkar became the first batsman to score a double century in a one-day international with a score of 200 against South Africa on 24 February 2010. Tendulkar led India to 401-3 in 50 overs. India won the match by 153 runs to take a winning 2-0 lead in the series after they bowled out the tourists for 248. Tendulkar accomplished his feat in the second one-dayer against South Africa. Tendulkar hit 200 off 147 balls with 25 fours and three sixes.
At the 2007 World Cup, Herschelle Gibbs (South Africa) became the first person to score six sixes in one over in an international match against the Netherlands at Basseterre, St. Kitts, on 16 March.
The first player in NBA history to win a title with three different franchises is John Salley (USA) while playing for the Detroit Pistons (USA, 1989-90), Chicago Bulls (USA, 1996) and Los Angeles Lakers (USA, 2000). Robert Horry (USA) has equaled Salley’s feat with championship rings from the Houston Rockets (USA, 1994-95), Los Angeles Lakers (USA, 1999-01) and San Antonio Spurs (USA, 2004). Horry is one of only twelve players with six or more championship rings.
The best bowling start to a match was made in a World Cup game by Chaminda Vaas (b. Warnakulasuriya Patabendige Ushantha Joseph Chaminda Vaas, 27 January 1974) playing for Sri Lanka against Canada at Pietermaritzburg, South Africa on 15 February 2003. He took a hat trick with the first three balls of the game and then claimed a fourth victim in his opening over before finishing with six for 25. Sri Lanka went to win the match by ten wickets.
