The greatest distance from Earth achieved by humans was when the crew of the Apollo 13 were at apocynthion (i.e. their farthest point) 254 km (158 miles) from the lunar surface, on the far side of the Moon, and 400,171 km (248,655 miles) above the Earths surface, at 1:21a.m. BST on 15 Apr 1970. The crew were Capt. James Arthur Lovell, Jr, USN (b. 25 Mar 1928), Fred Wallace Haise, Jr (b. 14 Nov 1933) and John L. Swigert (1931–82).
On 24 November 2008 Eric Scott (USA) flew 457 m (1,500 ft) across a 320 m-deep (1053 ft) part of the Royal Gorge, Colorado, USA, using a wearable rocket belt. He completed the flight, without parachute, in 21 seconds, leaving just 12 seconds of reserve fuel.
On 5 June 2010, 25-year-old Eric McNair-Landry (Canada) and 46-year-old Sebastian Copeland (USA/France) kite-skied 595 km (369.72 miles) in 24 hours, covering the distance between on Greenland. The duo established the record speed on day 23 of a 43-day expedition to cross the 2,300-km-long (1429-mile) Greenland icecap from Narsarsuaq in the south to Qaanaaq in the north. They used 14-m (46-ft) Yakusa kites for most the 24-hr period, reaching speeds of 60 km/h (37 mi/h) and beating the previous record of 507.5 km (315.35 miles)

The farthest distance limbo skating under cars is 48.21 metres (158 ft 2 in) and was achieved by Shreeya Rakesh Deshpande (India) at Kagal five star MIDC, Kolhapur India on 31 May 2012 Record attempt took place early in the morning where 5 year old Shreeya limbo skated under 27 cars in just 23 seconds.
Johann Redl (Austria) drove a 7420 kg (16,358 lb) delivery truck a distance of 16.4 km (10.19 miles) on two wheels at Wels Airport, Austria, on 18 June 2004. The truck was a Steyr 891.
The record for the farthest distance pushing a car in 24 hours by a team of two is held by Matt O’Brien and Dustin Wells (USA). They pushed a Ford Windstar minivan for a total of 82.4 km (51.2 miles) in California, USA, from 14-15 June 2008.
The record for farthest distance on a snowmobile on water is 69.28 km (43.3 miles) and was achieved by Kyle Nelson (CAN) on the Cowan Lake, Canada on 3 September 2005.
Katya Davidson (USA) travelled a distance of 612.13 m (2,008 ft 4 in) whilst skipping on a 60 cm (24 in) high globe at the Red, White & Blue Parade, Citrus Heights, California, USA on 28 June 2003.
The farthest distance static cycling in 12 hours (male) was 832.35 km (517.2 mi) by Miguel Angel Castro (Spain) at the Tasagaya Sports Pavillion in Güímar, Spain, on 21 August 2010. At the time of this record, Castro also held the record for greatest static cycling distance in one minute, three minutes and one hour.
