On 20 January 2007, at St Jakob Halle, Basel, Switzerland, defending champion Nikolay Valuev (Russia) met Jameel McCline (USA) for the World Boxing Association heavyweight title. The combined weight of both fighters was 590 lb (267.6 kg), with Valuev weighing in at 322 lb (146 kg), and McCline at 268 lb (121.5 kg). The greatest distance by a radio-controlled model car in 24 hours is 34.1958 km (21.25 miles) and was achieved by members of the modelling group of the Anna-Schmidt-Schule Frankfurt (Germany) at the Tamiya Raceway in Sonneberg, Germany, on 24 July 2011. The model car used was a Tamiya “Desert Gator” with a cup machine motor using a MZ-Power Car Lipo Akku 5000 mAh battery. The electronic speed controller was a LRP Quantum Bullet and the remote control a Futaba 3PK 2.4 GHz.
A 1:32 scale model of the Type 42 Destroyer HMS Gloucester, built by Francis Macnaughton and piloted by Mike Watts and Paul Ellison (all UK), travelled a distance of 195.678 km (121.589 miles) in a 24-hour period at Bude Model Boat Festival, Cornwall, from 4–5 May 2002.
