The Great Red Spot on the planet Jupiter is the largest anticyclone in the Solar System. It varies in size but can be up to 40,000 km (24,800 miles) long and 14,000 km (8,700 miles) wide. It was first discovered in 1664 by Robert Hooke (UK) using one of the first telescopes. The clouds of the storm tower some 8 km above the surrounding cloudscape and the storm itself has maintained the same latitude, varying only by one degree.

The largest archery tournament involved 7,804 participants and was achieved by the National Archery in the Schools Program (USA) at the Kentucky Fair and Exposition Center in Louisville, Kentucky, USA on 12 May 2012. The National Archery in the Schools Program (NASP) is designed to teach international-style target archery to 4th -12th graders in physical education classes across the United States. The tournament took place over two days and drew teams of archers from 38 states.
The largest art competition attracted a total of 4,850,271 entrants from 6,601 schools across India in the All India Camel Colour Contest, organised by Kokuyo Camlin Limited (India), the final judging took place on 8 December 2011. The entries were divided into groups depending on the type of media used e.g. crayons, pastels, water colours etc. Judging took place at regional then national level.
The largest arepa is 493.2 kilos and was achieved by HARINA P.A.N. part of Empresas Polar (Venezuela) in Caracas, Venezuela, on 23 March 2011. The arepa used around 230 kilos of HARINA P.A.N. (corn flour) and 420 litres of water, the raw dough weighed 632 kilos but it lost 22% during cooking, which lasted 1 hour. The largest recorded area of water entirely covered by the same fern, red Azolla japonica, measured 9,685 m² (104,284 ft ²), when measured in January-June 2000. The fern was floating on the Furukawa-Sawanoike Pond, Kasuga Town, Japan.
The world’s highest artifical Christmas tree measured 52 m (170.6 ft)and was covered in green PVC artificial foliage. The largest art lesson held across multiple venues involved 1,817 participants in an event organised by Peter Draw (Singapore) and enabled by Cisco Systems (Singapore) in a total of 33 locations in 12 different countries, on 2 October 2010. The countries involved were Australia, India, Thailand, China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, USA, Korea, Singapore, Taiwan and Japan. Peter Draw conducted the lesson.
The largest art installation made entirely from coat hangers is Silver Back by David Mach (UK), who created a 2.1-m (7-ft) tall, 2.7-m (9-ft) long, 1.5-m (5-ft) wide sculpture of a male gorilla out of 7,500 metal coat hangers. Silver Back took 2,705.6 man-hours to create and first went on display at the FIAC art fair in Paris, France in late October 2007. Silver Back is one of an edition of three (two further ones planned) and the first was bought by a private collector.
