The largest beer crate pyramid consisted of 105,995 beer crates and was made by Quandt-Schön Getränkefachhandelsgesellschaft mbH and Radio MV with the help of 60 volunteers in an event organised by Radio MV in Satow, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Germany, as ascertained on 5 June 2011. The largest Beer tasting is 392 and was achieved by Smaakvol Gelderland 2014 (Netherlands), in Arnhem, Netherlands, on 29 August 2014. The participants tasted 3 beers: 1. De Koninck by brewery De Koninck; 2. Bacchus Kriek by brewery Van Honsebrouck; 3. Delirium Hivernum by brewery Huyghe. The beers were tasted under the guidance of Wolter de Bes. There were 8 people to ‘pull’ the beers from kegs into jugs and then 10 pourers to distribute the beers into glasses.

The Large Binocular Telescope comprises two identical telescopes, each with an 8.4 m (27 ft 6 in) diameter main mirror. Working in tandem, they have an equivalent light-gathering power of a single mirror 11.8 m (38 ft 8 in) across. The telescope, located on a mountain top in Arizona, USA, became fully functional in March 2008.
