Largest civilian formation flight

The largest civilian formation flight consisted of 37 Van’s RV Aircraft led by Stu McCurdy (USA). They flew in different close formations during the AirVenture09 Airshow in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, USA, on 28 -29 July 2009 Stu McCurdy also held the previous record. The formation in 2009 was flown to comemmorate the 10th anniversary of FFI (Formation Flying Inc.)

Largest cityscape created with kitchen utensils

Zhan Wang (China) created a model of London using over 1,000 pots, pans and kitchen utensils. The London Eye wheel is a ball of stainless-steel wire and St Paul’s Cathedral is a large oven dish. It featured in the Universal Experience exhibition at the Hayward Gallery, London, UK, from 6 October – 11 December 2005.

With an area of 4 km2 (1.5 miles2), Tarantia, the capital city of Aquilonia, consists of several regions, the most famous of which is Old Tarantia. King Conan’s palace is here and the area is patrolled by the Black Dragons – the king’s elite bodyguards. Guinness World Records Gamers’ Edition 2009

Largest cockroach

The world’s largest winged cockroach is Megaloblatta longipennis found in Peru, Ecuador and Panama. A preserved female in the collection of Akira Yokokura of Yamagata, Japan, measures 97 mm (3.8 in) in length and 45 mm (1.75 in) across. M. longipennis can have a wingspan of up to 8 in (20 cm). The average cockroach ranges from 0.24 in-3 in (0.6-7.6 cm) in length.

Largest cobwebs

The world’s largest cobwebs, measuring up to 2.8 square metres (30 ft² 20 in²), are woven by a newly-discovered species of Madagascan spider known as Darwin’s bark spider (Caerostris darwini). It weaves them over flowing rivers by a mechanism as yet undocumented, so that they stretch from one bank to the opposite bank, and some of these are also the world’s longest known cobwebs, spanning 25 m (82 ft 0.25 in).

Largest coastal mangrove forest

The world’s largest coastal mangrove forest is the Sundarbans, which stretches for almost 15,540 km² (6,000 miles²) across India and Bangladesh, and acts as a natural barrier against tsunamis and cyclones that often blow in from the Bay of Bengal. With saltwater-tolerant roots, this forest’s mangrove trees sometimes exceed 21 m (70 ft) in height above islands of layered sand and grey clay, which have been deposited by rivers that flow for over 1,000 miles from the Himalayas to the Bay of Bengal.

Largest clown boots

The circus clown with the largest boots was Coco (Latvia) (b. Nicolai Poliakoff), who took a size UK58 (US 58½). In 1929 he joined the Bertram Mills’ Circus (UK), and apart from a gap when he served in the British army during World War II,  he returned to work with them afterwards. 

Largest collection of armoured vehicles

The largest collection of privately-owned armoured vehicles numbered 229 as of 3 February 2007, and belong to Jacques Littlefield (USA), who displays them at his family home, Pony Tracks Ranch, in California, USA. The 229 de-activated armoured fighting vehicles are from all over the world and include 70 tanks and even a German Panzer IV! Mr Littlefield’s top four tanks from his collection are: 1.
