Seppo Mäkinen (Finland) has a collection of 30,105 different badges from over 50 countries, as of June 2008, that he has amassed since 1994.
Messias Soares Cavalcante (Brazil) has collected a total of 12,800 different cacha?a bottles since 1988. Cachaça is the most traditional and most consumed spirit in Brazil. It is made from sugar cane and is similar to white rum. There are many rare bottles in Mr Cavalcante’s collection including Pele and the Sagatiba Preciosa which was purchased at a Christie’s auction in 2007.
Nina Merinova (Russia) has 735 different butterfly ornaments, as of September 2011, which she has been collecting since 1996. Nina started making butterfly ornaments in 1996 when she lived in Siberia. As she had snow 8 months in a year, she began making colourful butterflies after having read the book ‘Butterflies of the World.’

The largest cork collection in the world is owned by Antonio Fontela Blanco and Rosa Maria Valdes Diaz of Oviedo, Asturias, Spain who on 6 March 2002 had collected 744 different bottle corks from 284 brands of natural cider from Asturias, Spain. Collection was started in 1995 and the oldest cork in the collection is 60 years old.
Richard Warren of Lake Forest, California, USA, has collected 2,381 books, all signed by their original authors. Pastor Rick Warren began building his personal library in 1970 at the age of 16. The largest collection of bookmarks belongs to Frank Divendal (Netherlands) with 103,009 different bookmarks from all over the world, as of 8 February 2010, which he has been collecting since 1982. Frank has a well organised system to store his book marks. He first sorts them by country, then within a country he separates them into themes, such as bookshops, libraries, tourism etc. Although he collects all types of bookmarks, his favourites are the ones made of paper.
Chester Lindgren (Canada) has 1,642 different belt buckles that he has collected since 1974. Chester stopped collecting buckles in 2004.
Myrtle B. Eldridge (USA) has 9,638 bells that she has collected since the 1980s. The majority of Myrtle’s bells were given to her as gifts from friends and family together with purchases she has made at yard sales and flea markets.
