Richard T Porter (USA) has a collection of 4,580 thermometers that he has amassed since 1978, all are housed in the Porter Thermometer Museum, Onset, Massachusetts, USA. In light of Richards local fame, Onset Massachusetts is fondly referred to as the thermometer capital of the world.

Frank Helker (Germany) has a collection of 163,235 Edmondson railway tickets that he has amassed since the 1980s. Edmondson tickets are those that have been made using a specific printing and numbering machine. Thomas Edmondson invented the revolutionary system of printing rail tickets and it has been in wide use since 1843. Frank has railway tickets dating from 1902 to 2003.

Gerd Bonk (Germany) has 126 different trivets, as of 16 February 2010, that he has been collecting since 1975. A trivet is a plate placed between a serving dish and a dining table to protect the table from heat damage. All of his breakfast trivets have different old German proverbs printed.

The record for the largest collection of tribal and ethnic footwear belongs to William (Boy) Habraken (The Netherlands), with 2,322 different pairs of footwear originating from 155 countries, which he has been collecting since 1968. Alfredo Gonçalves of Lisbon, Portugal, has collected 10,500 unduplicated whisky bottles in all different shapes. His collection is open to the public at his shop “Whisky & Co” in Lisbon, Portugal.
