Largest mailbox

The largest mailbox measures 68.484 m³ (2,418.49 ft³) and was created by Yamaguchi University Choshu Enjoying Science Innovation Project (Japan). It was presented and measured at Yamaguchi University in Ube, Yamaguchi, Japan, on 27 December 2012. The large mailbox is a replica of a commonly used red Japanese mailbox made of iron. The largest Mahjong tournament is the First Super Cup Mahjong Tournament held by Gi Tiene International Co. Ltd. (Taiwan) between 8 December 2007 and 3 February 2008. The competition featured 14,886 individual players from all over Taiwan.

Largest magnet sculpture

The largest magnet sculpture is 73.66 cm (29 in) tall and 40.64 cm (16 in) wide and was created by Nano Magnetics (Canada) at the Golden Globe Luxury Gift Lounge in the London Hotel in Los Angeles, California, USA, on 14 January 2011. The statue replicates the famous Golden Globe Award.

The greatest number of people attending and participating in a magic lesson held simultaneously at different venues is 2,573 and was achieved by La Fundación Abracadabra de Magos Solidarios (Spain) in 51 Hospitals in Spain, on 10 December 2010. The lesson included two magical routines, the ‘sudden wand’ and ‘cut & restored bandage’.

Largest mambo dance

A total of 3,868 people danced to Pérez Prado’s Mambo No. 5 for five minutes on 19 October 2000 at Palau Sant Jordi, Barcelona, Spain. CATEGORY RESTED AS TOO SPECIFIC – SUGGEST LARGEST DANCE BY COUPLES INSTEAD.

The world record for the largest maraca ensemble was 407 people who shook their maracas for the launch of the XFM radio station in Manchester on the 15 March 2006. Bez from the Happy Mondays was one of the participants. James Bradley adjudicated the event.

The largest maple leaf measured 53 cm (20.86 in) wide and 52.2 cm (20.55 in) long and was discovered by Vikas Tanwar and family (all Canada) in Richmond, British Columbia, Canada, on 14 December 2010. The stem measured 32.5 cm (12.79 in).

The largest online interactive world map is Earth Viewer, which was acquired by Google in 2004. Relaunched as Google Earth in 2005 it is a virtual 3D globe of the entire Earth comprised of satellite data that can be browsed by home Internet users. Most of the land area of Earth is covered at 15 m (49 ft) resolution, with many areas having resolutions as high as 15 cm (6 in).

One in every five pairs of tights in the world is made by Sara Lee, making it the largest tights manufacturer in 1999. Its hosiery brands include LEggs, Hanes and Pretty Polly. Sara Lee’s takeover of UK firm Courtaulds in May 2000 adds the Aristoc brand to its line of hosiery.

The Uros Islands in Lake Titicaca (Peru/Bolivia) are made from mats of reeds tied together, and are constantly under construction, as they rot away over a three-month period.
