The longest distance swimming in relay in open water by an unlimited team is 684.75 km (425.48 miles) and was achieved by a group of 200 swimmers at Lake Camlough, Camlough, Northern Ireland, United Kingdom, between 9 to 19 September 2009. In total over 200 swimmers took part in swimming around a 750 m circuit. Gavin Brown swam the Farthest distance in one leg, completing five laps (3,750 m) in 1 hr 04 min 34 sec. The event was organised by Padraig Mallon.
The record for the longest team swimming marathon is 240 hours and was set by Matt Howard, Todd Primmer, Matt Murphy, Sue Meckley, John Kocher and Dave Schilling (all USA). The team of six completed a distance of 469.5 miles (755.58 km) in the YMCA Pool, Newark, Ohio, USA on 24 August 1979. This was rejected at the time as a rested category however has now been re-instated. Future attempts will have to beat both time and distance. Teams of six only.

The longest living dog is Farrell, a male Irish Wolfhound, who measures 237 cm (93.17 in) from nose to tail-tip. He is owned by Robert and Kate Fandetti of Baneberry, TN, USA. He was measured by staff at the White Pine Veterinary Practice when he was 4 and a half years old.
