The McDonald Laser Ranging Station, near Fort Davis, Texas, USA, uses a laser to measure the distance between the Earth and the Moon to an accuracy of 1 cm (0.39 inches). Longest LAN Party

The longest non-stop LAN party lasted 40 hours and was completed by 274 gamers during Cyber Fusion 2009 at the Multimedia University in Cyberjaya, Malaysia, from 11-12 April 2009. At the start of marathon 291 players from Malaysia as well as China, Yemen, Brunei and Korea attempted to play non-stop for 40 straight hours. The longest journey on a lawnmower is 23,487.5 km (14,594.5 miles) in 260 consecutive days by Gary Hatter (USA). The longest speech made was one by Chief Mangosuthu Buthelezi, the Zulu leader, when he gave an address to the KwaZulu legislative assembly between 12 and 29 Mar 1993. He spoke on 11 of the 18 days, averaging nearly 2½ hours on each of the 11 days.

The longest line of dancing drag queens was achieved by 128 participants at The Great Drag Race organised by The X Foundation (UK) in London, England, UK, on 19 June 2010. The event raised £20,000 for the Prostate Cancer Research Foundation and Prostate Cancer Support Foundation.
