Longest paper chain by a team

A paper chain measuring 87.44 km (54.33 miles) long was made by 60 people in 24 hours at Paul. D Camp Community College in Franklin, Virginia, USA on 4–5 June 2005. The event was organized by Downtown Franklin Association with the City of Franklin, Virginia, USA.

Longest palindromic word

The longest known palindromic word is saippuakivikauppias (19 letters), which is Finnish for a dealer in lye (caustic soda). A palindrome is a word or phrase where the letters read backwards, give the same word or phrase, eg: the phrase ‘Madam I’m Adam’, with the reply ‘Eve’.Some baptismal fonts in Greece and Turkey bear the circular 25-letter inscription NIYON ANOMHMATA MH MONAN OYIN, meaning wash (my) sins, not only (my) face. Longest pension

Miss Millicent Barclay who was born on 10 Jul 1872, three months after the death of her father, Col. William Barclay, became eligible for a Madras Military Fund pension to continue until her marriage. She died unmarried on 26 Oct 1969, having drawn the pension for every day of her life  –  97years 3months.

Longest pendulum

The world’s longest pendula were two lengths of number 24 steel piano wire, each 1,353.3 m (4,440 ft) long. They were suspended down the number 4 shaft of the Tamarack Mines, near Calumet, Michigan, USA, in September 1901. The experiment was performed by Professor Fred W. Longest penalty shootout

In a nail-biting finish, the final of the 2005 Namibian Cup had to be settled by a record-breaking 48 penalty kicks, with KK Palace holding their nerve to defeat the Civics 17–16 following a 2–2 draw in normal time. A number of players on each side had to take three spot kicks in the shootout, which lasted almost as long as the game.

Longest pearl necklace

The longest single-strand pearl necklace measured 222 m (728 ft 4 in) and was created by Shimashi Kanko Kyokai (Japan) at the 60th Pearl Festa in Kashikojima, Shima, Mie, Japan, on 22 October 2010. 27,750 pearls were used. It took more than three months to complete the necklace.

Longest peanut throw

The farthest distance to throw a peanut is 37.92 metres (124 ft 4 in), achieved by Colin Jackson (UK) at the Welsh Institute of Sport in Sophia Gardens, Cardiff, UK on 20 February 2008. Colin Jackson is a former world champion hurdler, athlete and now presents various television programs, primarily for the BBC.

Longest pine cone

The longest pine cone measured 58.2 cm (22.9 in) on 15 October 2002, and was collected by Steve Schwarz (USA) of Cuyhoga Falls, Ohio, USA. The specimen was from a Sugar pine tree.
