The longest fossil silicified tree trunk measures 38 m (124 ft 8 in) and 1.2 m (3 ft 11 in) in basal diameter and consists of 33 sections, with roots, trunk and cross-section growth rings clearly preserved. The trunk, which was unearthed in Qitai County, Xinjiang, China, is displayed in the Shandong Tianyu Natural Museum, China.

The world record for the longest tongue on a dog is 43 cm (17 in) and belonged to Brandy, the boxer, who lived with her owner John Scheid in St. Clair Shores, Michigan, USA until September 2002. Unfortunately Brandy (who was born in 1995) had to be put down on 8 September 2002, due to a stomach disorder that is common in boxers.

The longest tongue on a dog measures 11.43 cm (4.5 in) and belongs to Puggy, a male Pekingese owned by Becky Stanford (both United States). The measurement was taken at Avondale Haslet Animal Clinic, Texas, United States, on 8 May 2009, when Puggy was 9 years old.
