Incredibly, he never covered less than 144.8 km (90 miles) per day (except for the final day), and on the sixth day managed 157.8 km (98.1 miles). He ran for an average of 18 hours per day.

The fastest journey from Land’s End to John O’Groats on a conference bike was 28 days 8 hr and 27 min and was achieved by Team CoBi (UK), a group of 194 individuals from across the UK. The 1855.52 km (1159.7 miles) journey was completed on 29 August 2010. Team CoBi used a seven-seater conference bike for the journey and visited six Cancer Research UK centres and institutes across the country. The journey raised over £30,000 for Cancer Research UK. George Meegan (UK) walked 30,608 km (19,019 miles) in a journey that took him from the southernmost point of South America, at Ushuaia, Argentina, to the northernmost point of North America, at Prudhoe Bay in Alaska, USA, taking 2,426 days from 26 January 1977 to 18 September 1983. He thus completed the first traverse of the Americas and the western hemisphere.
The fastest journey from Land’s End to John-O’-Groats on tandem bicycle by a mixed team (male and female) is 51 hr 19 min 23 sec and was achieved by Lynne Taylor and Andy Wilkinson (both UK) in 2000. Andy Wilkson and Lynne Taylor have both held the individual End to End record, male and female respectively, at one point in time.
The fastest journey from Land’s End to John-O’-Groats on an electric mobility vehicle is 24 days 9 hours and was achieved by Mary Laver (United Kingdom) in a power wheelchair from 18 July to 12 August 2009. Mary Laver has Rheumatoid Arthritis and has been power wheelchair dependent for the last twenty years. Mary raised money for the Royal British Legion during her attempt. Mary drove around 45-55 miles per day, mainly using minor A and B roads.
