Tallest boat lift

The Strépy-Thieu boat lift, on the Canal du Centre, Hainaut, Belgium, uses a counterweight system to carry boats a vertical distance of 73.15 m (240 ft) from its upstream and downstream sections. The two boxes or caissons, that each boat enters are 112 x 12 m (367 x 39 ft), and weight between 7,200 and 8,400 tonnes, depending on the current water level. It takes seven minutes for the vertical journey to be completed.

Tallest bloom

The tallest bloom is the Titan arum (Amorphophallus titanum), an example of which was grown by Louis Ricciardiello (USA) measuring 3.1 m (10 ft 2.25 in) tall on 18 June 2010, when it was on display at Winnipesaukee Orchids in Gilford, New Hampshire, USA. The Titan arum, also known as the corpse flower, was measured from the tip of the bloom (spadix) to the top of the tuber.

Tallest artificial climbing wall

The tallest artificial climbing wall measured 41.89 m (137.42 ft) and was constructed at Historic Banning Mills, Whitesburg, Georgia, USA. The wall was measured on 9 December 2011. The wall was measured by William Hutson (Land surveyors & engineers, state of Georgia, License LS002312) of Georgia & West Inc., using a Topcon GTS 233W total station laser measuring device. The wall was climbed by Kalib Robertson, an experienced climber, in approximately 12 minutes on 9 December 2011.

Table tennis bat and ball control – duration

The longest control of a table tennis ball with a table tennis bat is 4 hours, 39 minutes, 52 seconds and was achieved by Deepak Sharma Bajagain (Nepal) at the National Sports Council’s Covered Hall in Tripureshwor, Kathmandu, Nepal, on 1 December 2009. The record was achieved in one of Mr. Bajagain’s three record attempts in his “World Record Hat Trick” in observance of World AIDS Day 2009.

Supermarket trolley pushing – distance in 24 hours (team)

A team of 12 staff members from the company EDEKA Südbayern (all Germany), took turns to push a shopping trolley for 24 hours around a 434 m long track in the Forum Building of the Munich Airport (Germany) covering an overall distance of 294.52 km (183 miles) on 23 July 2005. The team completed 678 loops on the 434 m long track circular track. The was organised on the occasion of the company party. Tallest coleus plant

The tallest coleus plant (Solenostemon scutellarioides) measured 2.5 m (8 ft 4 in) tall on 31 October 2004 and was grown by Nancy Lee Spilove (USA) in her garden in Sunrise, Florida, USA.
