The tallest parsley plant (Petroselinum crispum) was grown by David Brenner (USA) and reached a height of 2.37 m (7 ft 9.38 in) when measured at the North Central Regional Plant Introduction Station in Ames, Iowa, USA, on 10 June 2009. Mr. Brenner, a Germplasm Curator at Iowa State University’s Department of Agronomy, originally planted the parsley plant in March 2008 to produce seeds to maintain the station’s seed bank.
The tallest paddy plant (Oryza sativa) in the world measured 2.8m (9 ft 2 in) tall in 2005 and was grown by Tanaji Nikam (India) in Kolhapur, Maharashtra, India.
The tallest ox is Bellino, a chianina ox who measured 2.027 m (6 ft 7 in) to the withers. He is owned by Giuseppe Sola (Italy) and was measured on the set of Lo Show dei Record in Rome, Italy, on 27 March 2010. An ox is an adult, castrated male bovine.
The tallest object balanced on the nose is 12.22-m pole (40 ft 9 in) balanced by Ashrita Furman (USA), in La Sapienza, Rome, Italy on 7 May 2011. The pole was a retracting fiberglass pole, weighing 3.6 kilograms. He balanced the pole for 22 seconds.
The tallest object balanced on chin is 21.015 m (68 ft 11.36 in) by Ashrita Furman (USA), at Jamaica High School, New York, New York, USA, on 15 August 2011. Ashrita balanced the fibreglass pole on his chin for 11.09 seconds, over the required 10 second limit.

Boosaule Montes, on Jupiter’s active moon Io, reach up to 16,000 m (52,493 ft) in height. Rather than being built up by volcanic eruptions, like Olympus Mons, they were formed by tectonic activity (more like Mt Everest) generated by enormous stresses in the Ionian crust. Boosaule Montes is around as high as Everest and K2 on top of each other.
The Rupal face of Nanga Parbat, in the western Himalayas, Pakistan, is a single rise of some 5,000 m (16,000 ft) from the valley floor to the summit. The mountain itself, with a summit at 8,125 m (26,656 ft), is the 8th highest mountain in the world and the highest mountain in Pakistan.
Mauna Kea (White Mountain) on the island of Hawaii, USA, is the world’s tallest mountain. Measured from its submarine base in the Hawaiian Trough to its peak, it has a combined height of 10,205 m (33,480 ft) of which 4,205 m (13,796 ft) are above sea level.
The tallest minaret in the world is that of the Great Hassan II Mosque, Casablanca, Morocco, measuring 200 m (656 ft). The cost of construction of the mosque was 5 billion dirhams (£360 million US$513.5 million)). Among minarets of earlier centuries the tallest is the Qutb Minar, south of New Delhi, India, built in 1194 to a height of 72.54 m (238 ft). The mosque can accomodate 25,000 worshippers in its prayer hall, which has a retractable roof and a further 80,000 outside.
