A team of 10 Royal Marine reserves from all over the UK pulled a Boeing 737-300, weighing 37 tonnes (81,500 lb), a distance of 100 m (328 ft) in 43.2 sec at Manchester Airport (UK) on 27 January 2001.
The attempt raised funds for two charities: Destination Florida, which sends seriously ill children on the holiday of a lifetime; and the Royal Marine Relief Fund.
