The fastest half marathon dressed as a television character was achieved by Christopher Burton (UK) dressed as Sportacus in 1 hr 33 min 46 sec at the 2011 Yeovil Half Marathon in Yeovil, UK, on 27 March 2011. Sportacus is the main protagonist from the Icelandic children’s programme “LazyTown.”

Burton also attempted the fastest marathon as a television character three weeks later at the 2011 Virgin London Marathon but lost to a “Captain James T. Kirk” by 15 seconds.
