The fastest marathon in a superhero costume (male) is 2 hr 33 min 58 sec, achieved by Stephane Hetherington (Canada) at the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, on 14 October 2012.

Hetherington dressed as “The Flash,” and ran to raise money for the Etobicoke Track & Field Club. He missed out on setting the record in 2011 by 12 seconds.
