The fastest marathon in armour is 6 hr 46 min 59 sec and was achieved by Peter Pedersen (Denmark) at the HC Andersen Marathon, Odense, Denmark, on 21 September 2008.

Peter wore full medieval battle armour including boots, helmet, gauntlets and the total weight was 28 kg before and after the race.
