Fastest solar powered vehicle

The fastest speed attained by a solar-powered vehicle is 91.332 km/h (56.75 mph) and was achieved by Kenjiro Shinozuka (Japan), who drove Ashiya University’s Sky Ace TIGA at Shimojishima Airport, in Miyakojima, Okinawa, Japan, on 20 August 2014.

Kenjiro Shinozuka is a rally driver with a vast experience in participating in races.
Team Shinozuka was created in 2012, and following participation in several solar car races, the Team tried to break the record for the Fastest solar-powered vehicle, but both in 2012 and in 2013 the attempts were not successful. The Team was determined to make another attempt in the summer of 2014.
Miyakojima was chosen as the record attempt venue, as it has the most suitable conditions in Japan in regards to the sunlight strength, sun elevation, temperature, etc.
Kenjiro Shinozuka is also one of the record holders for the Greatest distance by electric vehicle, single charge (non-solar).
