The fastest speed on a towed snowboard was 61 mph (98.17 km/h) by Jason Buchanan towed by Leon Maya (both USA) at Mammoth Lakes, California, USA, on 30 April 2011. Buchanan was towed by snowmobile.

The speed was registered by California state highway patrolmen Adam Guddat and Merril Sept, who each had registered and calibrated radar guns at the start and finish lines of the 100 m course.
