The highest score ever recorded on the Mega Drive/Genesis version of Columns is 99,999,989, by Keith Danforth on 11 June 2006. At first glance it would appear that Keith’s luck cruelly ran out when he was just a few points shy of 100 million, but in truth the counter freezes at 99,999,989. As such, he has earned the honour of being the first person to earn a perfect score on this game.
