Largest aqua aerobics display

The largest aqua aerobic display was achieved by 2,047 participants at Pattaya beach (Thailand) during an event organised by the Royal College of Physicians of Thailand and the Ministry of Public Health (both Thailand) on 25 April 2009.

Press release: The Largest Aqua Aerobics Display organized by the Royal College of Physicians of Thailand, together with Ministry of Public Health, Ministry of Tourism and Sports, Naval Medical Department, Chonburi Province, Chonburi Provincial Administrative Organization, Pattaya City, Burapha University, Thai-Rai-Poong Network and many local administrative organizations, public hospitals in Chonburi Province and private Bangkok Hospital Pattaya, was held successfully at Pattaya beach near Soi 4, Chonburi province on April 25, 2009 between 17:00-17:50. The event had a total of 2,047 active participants who simultaneously performed rhythmic aerobic exercise in the sea with stretching and strength training routines in a group setting for at least 10 minutes and was led by eighteen skillful instructors on the stages whose steps of aerobic exercise were also shown on two LED screens. The exercise area in the sea extended to almost two kilometers along the curved Pattaya beach and it was an aqua aerobics event like no other held in Pattaya beach before. This event was witnessed by an adjudicator from Guinness World Records who can confirm that this is the largest aqua aerobic display (Claim ID 248850) ever held in the water with 2,047 active participants. Accordingly, the world record for this category was broken on this day and the RCPT with the above-mentioned supporting units earned a spot in the Guinness World Records™ archive as hosts of the World’s Largest Water Aerobics Display in Pattaya city.
