The largest backpack or rucksack is 4.315 m (14.15 ft 1.88 in) in height, 3.21 m (10 ft 6.38 in) in width, 1.47 m (4.8 ft 9.87 in) in depth and was measured at the Intergift IFEMA expo centre in Madrid, Spain on 3 February 2011.

The backpack was made from polyester fabric and is an exact replica of a normal sized Safta backpack which was present throughout the measuring process. The largest backpack was scaled to be 10 times the size of the normal sized backpack, complete with labels, zips, logos and pockets. The entire project from planning to completion took one year and the finished product was unvelied during an exhibition or fair of school products at the Intergift expo centre in Madrid, Spain.
