The world´s largest butterfly farm is on the Malaysian island of Penang. Opened in March 1986, and occupying 0.8 hectares, it includes a breeding centre, garden enclosure, laboratory, and exhibition area, and contains over 4000 living specimens belonging to more than 50 different species.
