The largest chocolate coin weighed 265 kg (584 lb 3.59 oz) and was achieved by the Sun Plaza shopping centre in Bucharest, Romania on 17 November 2011.

The coin measured 1.35 m in diameter, and was 14 cm thick. The image on the coin was the logo of the shopping centre, and the presentation of the coin to the public was part of the annual switching on of the shopping centre’s Christmas lights (which is also accompanied by a firework display). The chocolate coin will be broken up and distributed to children who live in the region and at a local orphanage.
