The largest lantern is 12 m (39 ft 4 in) tall and 7.4 m (24 ft 3 in) wide. It was build for the Nenbutsushu Sanpouzan Muryojuji Temple in Kato City, Hyogo, Japan, and was measured on 10 March 2008.

The lantern was made from stone.
