On April 25, 1993, 300,000 people gathered in support of the March on Washington for Gay, Lesbian and Bi-equal Rights. The event, which occurred on the mall near the Washington Memorial in Washington, DC, USA, was planned to show support for legislation granting equal rights for homosexuals in American society, including anti-discrimination regulations based on sexual orientation and an end to the ban on homosexuals in the US military.
Marchers included the then-New York Mayor David Dinkins and actress Cybill Shepherd.
