Largest ice village

A village of 140 ‘igloos’ – huts constructed solely of ice – was constructed near the famous Icehotel at Jukkasjärvi, Sweden, to accommodate 700 employees of Tetra Pak International during a conference at the hotel in December 2002.

Each hut had a diameter of 4.3 m (14 ft) and was 2.1 m (7 ft) high. Each slept a maximum of five people and was constructed of around 50 m³ (1,765 ft³) of snow.
