The largest indoor ski resort is Ski Dubai in the desert state of the United Arab Emirates, which opened in December 2005 with a total area of 22,500 m² (242,187 ft²) covered with up to 6,000 tonnes (13 million lb) of real snow all year around, servicing a maximum of 1,500 visitors. This includes Alpine-style chalets, chairlifts, fir trees, a 3,000 m² (32,290 ft²) interactive Snow Park for tobogganing and bobsleigh, a 400-m (1,312-ft) long slope dropping 60 m (196 ft), a 90-m (295-ft) quarter pipe for trick practice, and a range of five ski runs -one of which is the first indoor run to be classified as black (advanced).
