The largest linked race by most pairs (single venue) was achieved by 3,479 pairs at the second annual “La Carrera de Padres e Hijos”, organized by IMSS (Mexico), at the Hemiciclo a Juárez in Mexico City, Mexico, on 18 May 2014.
All of the participants started at the same time; some ran 1 km (0.62 mi), some ran 2 km (1.24 mi) and some ran 3 km (1.86 mi). Runners were all linked at the wrist by elastic bands provided by IMSS and all of the participants were registered as parent and child.
