Largest mooncake

The largest mooncake was made by members of the Toronto Mid Autumn Festival Committee and weighed 2.28 tonnes (5,033.80 lb). The cake was displayed at Dragon City Shopping Centre, Toronto, Canada on 29 September 2001.

The mooncake was made in conjunction with the Toronto Chinatown Development Committee, the Toronto Chinese Business Association, the Scadding Court Community Centre, the Chao Chow Association of Canada, the Vietnamese, Cambodian and Laotian Chinese Service Association, the Lung Kung Tin Yee Association, the 128 Scout Cadets of Toronto, the Toronto Flying Tiger Sports Association and MacDonalds Restarants Inc. The cake measured 4.41 m (14.5 ft) in length and was 2.74 m (9 ft) wide. The cake contained 1,300 lb (589.67kg) flour, 1,400 lb (635.02 kg) sugar and oil, 2,000 eggs, 3,000 lb (1,360.77kg) lotus paste and red bean paste. It took twenty bakers two days to produce the cake.
