The largest ocarina ensemble involved 3,081 participants and was achieved by David Liggins, Ocarina Workshop and The Schools Music Association of Great Britain (all UK) in the Royal Albert Hall, London, UK on 5 November 2013.
The attempt was part of the Barnardo’s Young Supporters concert.
The numbers were made up of children and teachers from over 60 primary schools in the UK, Jersey and Gibraltar, and their families and friends. They played a classical piece ‘Ode to a Joyful New Star’ composed and conducted by Douglas Coombes MBE and accompanied by the Royal Albert Hall organ.
