The largest serving of Kapssah was 17,893 kg (39,447 lb) and was achieved by Al-Sha’am For Organising Exhibitions & Festivals (Oman) at the Oman International Exhibition Centre, in Muscat, Oman, on 23 July 2010.
The largest serving of Kapssah was made by Chef Abdul Rahman Yousef from Maidat Al- Noman catering services with the help of around 40 of his staff. This Kapssah was created for Renaissance Day at the Oman International Centre to mark the 40th Anniversary of the reign of His Majesty Sultan bin Said, by Al-Sha’am For Organising Exhibitions & Festivals. The dish that the Kapssah was cooked and kept in was 4 m (13 ft 1.4 in) in width and 1.2 m (3 ft 11 in) in height.
The Kapssah was made using 6,982.92 kg (15,394 lb) of rice , 3,496 kg (7,708 lb) of chicken and 56 kg (123.97 lb) of fresh corriander. The other ingredients used were water, salt, hummus, nuts, oil, fried onions, spices, dry corriander, mushrooms, garlic, ginger, tomato paste, onions, potatoes and tomatoes, which weighed a total of 7,357 kg (16,220.6 lb).
