Longest baguette

The longest baguette measures 111 metres (354.17 ft) and was achieved by the Big C Supercenter (Vietnam) at the Big C Supercenter An Lac Car Park, in Binh Tan District, Ho Chih Minh City, Vietnam, on 22 August 2009.

The longest-baguette record was attempted by the Big C Supercenter. In conjunction with their holding company, Casino Group?s 111th Anniversary, they had attempted to bake a baguette measuring 111 metres in a specially constructed oven measuring over 120 metres.
The dough was baked by 11 bakers whilst it was entered in and removed from the makeshift oven by 111 Big C personnel.
The dough was baked at precisely 11.11 am Vietnam time and took exactly 11 minutes to bake.
On measuring the baguette, which remained intact after the baking was completed, it measured 111.5 metres. However, on the instruction of the Chief Executive Officer of the Big C Supercenter, Mr. Pascal Billaud, they decided to cut up the baguette EXACTLY at the 111 meters mark to signify the auspicious anniversary year of the group company.
As such, Big C had successfully baked the World’s Longest Baguette at 111 metres long.
