The longest barbecue marathon is 80 hours and was achieved by Jan Greeff (USA & South Africa) in association with Char-Broil, LLC., at an event benefiting the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, in Columbus, Georgia, USA, on 27 April 2014.

Jan Greeff cooked 1000, hotdogs, 200 pieces of corn, 104 pieces of chicken, 558 burgers and 526 boereworse (South African sausage) over the course of three days. Donations made by spectators raised more than $10,000 for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
