The longest chain of beads measures 8,668.575 m (5.39 miles) and was made by Colin Nesbitt (UK), Reece Randle (UK) and childhood cancer charity ‘Little Heroes’ (UK), in Bradford, UK, on 18 February 2013.
The chain of beads was assembled by Colin Nesbitt and Reece Randle. Some of the lengths were made by children who had cancer and were in hospitals undergoing treatment. Of these children, some were so weak that their families and friends helped help make the bead lengths for the record attempt. Approximately 1.44 million beads were used.
