Longest line of socks

The longest line of socks measured 3,184 m (10,446 ft 2 in) and was achieved by The Sir Peter Blake Trust (New Zealand) in Wellington, New Zealand, on 30 June 2011.

The line contained 35,128 red socks. The Sir Peter Blake Trust made the record attempt to celebrate its annual appeal/remembrance day with red socks. Sir Peter Blake was a national sailing hero in New Zealand, killed by pirates in the Amazon in 2001, who always wore a pair of lucky red socks when he raced.
