Beginning on 21 October 2001, the Canadian Musicians for Liberty Organisation held the longest live event ever streamed over the internet. Around 1,000 musicians, comprising various bands and solo performances, took turns playing live music to a small local audience and directly to the internet (both video and sound). The concert continued for 181 hours, with breaks of only a few minutes while the acts swapped around. The event was held to raise money for the Canadian Red Cross USA Relief Fund.
To date $34,000 (Canadian) has been raised. The event took place at Touchdowns Bar and Grill, Mississauga, Ontario, Canada.
