The longest marathon playing rugby union is 24 hr 51 min and was achieved by Scotty’s Little Soldiers (UK) at Welford Road in Leicester, Leicestershire, UK, from 31 May to 1 June.

An Armed Forces XV beat the Scotty’s Little Soldiers XV 1,742 – 828. The game was organised by Nikki Scott, whose husband Corporal Lee Scott was killed in Afghanistan in 2009. The charity supports children who have lost parents who were serving in the armed forces.
